REST API multi-user credentials for more control and flexibility

We are pleased to introduce a new feature for the pascom Cloud Telephone System that makes managing your REST API accesses much easier. You can now create up to 10 REST API credentials. This means more flexibility and control over your API accesses.

What's new?

  • 🔑 Multi-user support: You can now create up to 10 different REST API credentials.
  • 🛠️ Improved authentication: The new implementation enables easy management of API credentials with a secure password hash (sha256). This keeps the management of your credentials simple and secure.
  • 💻 User-friendly front end: The administration of REST API credentials has been simplified in the admin area. You can add new credentials and delete existing ones. The "Add" button is automatically deactivated if 10 credentials already exist.n.
  • 🔒 One-time password display: When creating a new credential, the password is only displayed once. This ensures that your access data is secure and cannot be accessed by unauthorized persons.
  • ⚙️ Easy migration and compatibility: For existing systems, the old credentials were migrated to the new scheme to ensure a seamless transition.

Important notes:

  • There is an empty list of credentials for new telephone systems - all data must be added manually.
  • For an existing telephone system, the old REST API credentials are migrated to the new table.

This update gives you the ability to manage your API access efficiently and securely to make your pascom cloud telephone system even more flexible and user-friendly.

We look forward to your feedback and hope you enjoy the new feature!😊

Answering calls via DTMF on mobile devices

Until now, calls to mobile devices were automatically considered as “answered” as soon as the GSM network connected the call — even if, for example, the call was directed to the user's mobile voicemail box.

👉 What’s new?

  • In the mobile device settings, you will now find the option “Accept call via key press”.

  • By default, this option is disabled (same behaviour as before).
  • If enabled, when receiving a GSM call, you must press at least one DTMF key (a digit on the mobile device’s dial pad) within 4 seconds after answering the call to actually accept it.
  • All other pascom apps (e.g. Softphones, WebApps) will continue to treat the call as “ringing” until the DTMF input is provided.

👉 What are the benefits?

  • Prevents calls from being incorrectly considered as answered when, for example, the mobile device’s voicemail answers.
  • Gives you more control over when a call is actually considered as answered.

WebApp für Konferenzen mit Gästen, in neuem Design

The WebApp for conferences with guests now has a modern, fresh design. The user interface has been adapted to the latest design elements of the pascom app to offer a more pleasant user experience - without any functional changes.

What remains possible as usual?

Guests in conferences can still:

  •     use their camera and screen sharing,
  •     set audio sources and control the microphone,
  •     view all participants in the conference,
  •     exchange information and documents via the chat.

Important:

For the new design to become active, a new pascom group must be created or the guest mode of an existing group must be deactivated once and reactivated.

📣 Your feedback counts!

We are continuously developing pascom - so we look forward to your feedback on the new WebApp. Simply write to us directly via the feedback field.

Create AI-Prompts with Text-To-Speech

Creating and adding new phone system prompts has never been easier thanks to pascom AI and our new AI-based text-to-speech (TTS) tool, which allows you to convert texts into voice prompts at the click of a button - meaning no more microphones or recording studios. The new TTS feature is ideal for creating greetings, menu announcements and individual messages and as it is accessible via the cloud, it saves valuable time and effort.

  • Add a new greeting and give it a name. (e.g. welcome-prompt)
  • Enter the text to be converted into a voice prompt (e.g. Welcome to XYZ)
  • Select a voice and you're done!

You can find a detailed guide to creating prompts with TTS in our documentation

Mobile app pairing via e-mail for administrators

The mobile app pairing via e-mail feature provides administrators with enhanced control and flexibility over the mobile device onboarding process. Mobile pairing can now be started directly via the admin interface - without the user having to initiate the pairing process themselves.

The new function can be used to generate an e-mail containing all the necessary information and a secure pairing link, which is then sent to users. Users can then pair their mobile device / smartphone in just a few steps using the e-mail contents - simple, fast and user-friendly.

Further information can be found in our documentation

New chat permissions for greater control over communication

The introduction of chat permissions gives administrators the ability to control access to pascom's chat functionality. Users assigned with chat permissions benefit from unrestricted use of pascom's instant messaging (chat) functionality. This includes creating and managing group chats, sending and receiving messages and using file sharing.

Users without chat permissions will have limited access to pascom's chat features.

As such, the chat permission provides greater control, security and an improved overview over the communication processes and can be flexibly assigned to users as required.

For a complete description of the new chat permissions feature, please refer to this tutorial.

Mobile pairing via e-mail and new authorization for chats in the BETA channel

There are currently two new improvements to try out in the BETA channel. Administrators can generate an e-mail for mobile pairing, with which a user can pair their smartphone/mobile phone.

You can find instructions on how to do this in the documentation

In addition, users can now be given chat authorization, which allows them to use the full functionality of the chats. This means that they can create their own chats with colleagues or group chats. Users without this authorization are restricted. A description of the chat authorization can be found in these instructions

Create AI prompts with text-to-speech - try it out now

All BETA testers can now test the new text-to-speech feature and create their own announcements with a simple text input in the Admin Dashboard. It has never been so easy and convenient.

  • Add a new greeting and give it a name. (e.g. welcome-prompt)
  • Enter the text to be converted into an announcement (e.g. Welcome to XY)
  • Select the voice and you're done!

Of course, you can change the announcement where it is placed at any time. We love this feature - what do you think?

WebApp for conferences with guests, in a new look

pascom BETA testers can currently test the new design of the pascom Web App. Our new app design offers web meeting guests greater comfort with a modern look and feel.

To use and test the new web app design, a new pascom group must be created or the "allow guests" mode of an existing group must be disabled and then re-enabled.

To find out more about becoming a pascom BETA tester, please refer to this forum thread.

Journal notes in the pascom app

The notes function in the call journal of the pascom app is now available for all pascom users.

What is it exactly?

  1. Journal entries can now be annotated with notes. This works for both your own calls and team calls.
  2. Notes also have a status, which can be helpful for future processing.
  3. This makes it possible to work together productively and effectively as a team.

How does it work?

  • Click on the journal entry in the call history.
  • Enter a new note and add a status symbol - done.

In the filter options of the call journal, you can also filter by status symbols of the notes to quickly find specific entries.

The latest pascom app update is required for this feature.

Further information on this topic can be found in our documentation
